Johanna Konta has beaten Simona Halep to reach the semi-finals of the 2017 Wimbledon Championships

Johanna Konta has beaten the Romanian, Simona Halep to become the first British woman to reach the Wimbledon singles semi-finals in 39 years.

Konta came from behind to claim a hard earned 6-7 7-6 6-4 victory over world number 2, Halep, in front of a jubilant crowd on Centre court.

She became the first British woman to reach the Wimbledon semi-finals since Virginia Wade in 1978.

Jo Konta will now face five-time Wimbledon champion Venus Williams on Thursday in an attempt to reach her first Grand Slam final.
