Petra Kvitova wins first title since stabbing by beating Ashleigh Barty

Petra Kvitova has won the 2017 Aegon Classic in Birmingham, she beat Ashleigh Barty in three sets 4-6 6-3 6-2 at the Edgbaston Priory Club. Kvitova was a set down but managed to fight back to win the tennis match in three sets.

Petra Kvitova capped her outstanding comeback from a career-threatening hand injury by winning this tournament. The Czech, playing in only her second tournament since she was stabbed by an intruder at her home in the Czech Republic in December 2016. Read more >

Petra who plays left handed served an ace to clinch the match and moved up four places in the WTA rankings to world number 12. (And now has 20 WTA Titles to her name).
